2014 - 2015 / Samsung R&D Institute India Bangalore Private Limited

During my time at Samsung Research Institute Bangalore, my focus was laser-sharp: designing impactful user experiences for products that would reach millions. My primary dedication was to the Samsung Galaxy S6, a flagship device that launched on March 1st, 2015. Being part of a team shaping such a widely anticipated product was incredibly motivating.

My responsibilities at Samsung were deeply embedded in two major projects that spanned over a year. Within a typical team of over ten talented individuals, each with their distinct roles, I operated as a Senior UX Designer. In this capacity, I directly contributed to commercially available products that demanded continuous feature updates. This meant I was constantly engaged in translating upcoming feature requirements into tangible design solutions, delivered on a periodic basis. My key deliverables included detailed Voice User Interface (VUI) flow diagrams and comprehensive Interaction Design Guidelines. These guidelines weren't static documents; they were living artifacts, constantly reviewed to ensure they met rigorous quality standards and maintained alignment with the overarching strategy and direction set by Samsung headquarters in Korea. My work directly influenced how users would interact with these features, aiming for intuitive and seamless experiences that enhanced the overall product value.

Beyond immediate product updates, I was also heavily involved in the Process / Line-up Design for near-term "future". This forward-thinking process centered on delivering truly innovative products within a 12-month release cycle. Through this strategic approach, designers within various business units actively shaped Samsung's future offerings. This involved not just blue-sky thinking but also conducting thorough competitive analysis of both new and existing products in the market. My contributions here directly impacted the strategic direction of future Samsung products, ensuring we were not just iterating but actively innovating to meet evolving user needs and market trends.

The tangible outcomes of my work included significant contributions to:

Samsung Car Mode: Designing hands-free in-vehicle services aimed at enhancing driver safety and convenience, directly impacting the user experience of in-car technology.
S Voice: Playing a key role in the voice assistant across the Galaxy S6 smartphone, the Gear S2 Smartwatch, and Level U wireless headphones. My work here directly influenced how users interacted with their devices through voice commands, making technology more accessible and intuitive
