My work directly empowers Supply Base Managers to strategically manage the procurement of essential parts, driving significant impact on cost savings and operational efficiency. I focus on creating intuitive tools that enable them to maintain a clear overview of commodity group assignments, effortlessly trigger requests for quotes (RFQs), and gain crucial insights into potential savings during negotiations with suppliers and manufacturers. By providing these capabilities, I aim to equip them with the information and workflows needed to secure the best possible deals.

Furthermore, I work closely with Configuration Experts to tailor our applications precisely to the needs of Supply Base Managers. This involves understanding their specific requirements for different project types, commodity groups, and negotiation cycles, and then configuring the application to support their unique workflows. My goal is to ensure they can leverage the application effectively to manage complex negotiations with suppliers and contract manufacturers, ultimately ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to stringent quality standards.

Within the application, I've designed features that directly impact negotiation outcomes. Supply Base Managers can now simulate potential savings based on various negotiation scenarios, enabling data-driven decision-making. The system facilitates the seamless generation and sending of RFQs to multiple suppliers, streamlining the quotation process. Finally, the application provides clear workflows for reviewing quotes and formally signing off on deals with chosen suppliers, ensuring a transparent and auditable process.

Beyond individual negotiations, I've also focused on providing robust tools for managing commodity groups. This includes maintaining comprehensive general and technical attribute sets for each commodity, ensuring consistency and accuracy. The application also supports a collaborative review and approval process involving both technical and commercial evaluators, guaranteeing that commodity groups meet all necessary criteria.

My involvement in this critical area as a UX Designer included working on a brand new application and delivering impactful feature updates to two existing ones. To ensure these tools truly met the needs of our users, I conducted in-depth workshops with two key customers. These direct interactions provided invaluable insights into their daily challenges and priorities, directly shaping the design and functionality of the applications to maximize their positive impact on the procurement process.
