My work directly empowers Material Planners to efficiently and accurately manage the distribution of critical material planning objects across our force units. I focus on building tools that enable them to meet the diverse needs of these units while navigating complex boundary conditions, restrictions, and the specific requirements of various stakeholders within the intricate levels of our organizational structure.

To achieve this, I designed a comprehensive list page that provides a clear overview of all FE (Force Element) to FMPO (Functional Material Planning Object) assignments. This single view offers immediate insight into the current distribution landscape.

Drilling down into a specific FE-FMPO assignment, the detailed page I designed provides a wealth of crucial information. This includes specifics about material variants, any accompanying parts FMPOs, and a real-time stock overview. Importantly, this page also features contextual actions, dynamically presented based on the current status of the assignment, allowing planners to trigger Purchase Requisitions (PRs) directly and efficiently. This streamlined process minimizes delays and ensures timely material availability.

My involvement in this critical project was as the UX Designer. To ensure the tool truly met the needs of our users, I conducted extensive workshops with both our material planner customers and various stakeholders. These sessions were invaluable in understanding their daily workflows, pain points, and specific requirements. By directly incorporating their feedback into the design, I aimed to create a solution that not only simplifies a complex task but also significantly improves the efficiency and accuracy of material distribution, ultimately ensuring our force units have the resources they need, precisely when they need them.
