AppANE: Contact Tracing for SAP Employees
Project type
Covid, Mobile
Date
December 2020
Location
SAP Labs India
As SAP prepared for employees to return to the office after the pandemic, I recognized the critical need for a solution that prioritized their safety and well-being. I took on the role of UX Designer for a vital project: developing a contact tracing application specifically for SAP colleagues. My focus wasn't just on building an app; it was on creating a tool that would have a tangible impact on the health and peace of mind of our workforce.
My involvement spanned the entire UX process. Starting with intensive ideation sessions, we conceptualized how the application could effectively trace and locate employees who might have been exposed to the 2019-nCoV virus while on office premises. I then translated these concepts into detailed mockups and ultimately delivered the visual design for the iOS version of the application.
The impact I aimed for was clear: to provide a swift and reliable mechanism for identifying potential exposures, thereby enabling rapid communication and support for affected employees. This included providing them with clear instructions, essential points of contact within SAP, and readily accessible resources to guide them through a safe recovery. By proactively tracing potential exposures, the application aimed to mitigate the spread of the virus within our offices and foster a sense of security as employees transitioned back to in-person work. This project was about leveraging UX design to directly contribute to a safer and more supported return to the workplace for every SAP employee.
